Cummins Power Generation Introduces the latest in its High Horse Power Centum Series Generator Sets to the 50Hz market with the QSK78

Cummins Power Generation Unveils Latest High Horse Power Centum Series Generator, Sets the 50Hz Market

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) has announced the expansion of its award-winning, high-horsepower generator portfolio with solutions powered by the QSK78 engine platform for 50Hz markets, delivering exceptional performance, reliability, and sustainability for data centers and mission-critical applications worldwide.

Designed to meet the growing power demands across data centers, healthcare, wastewater treatment, and other mission critical applications, the QSK78 engine-based generator sets provide high output, fast response, and robust load handling capabilities in a compact footprint. These solutions are engineered to support customers operating in regions where 50Hz power is standard, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.

The QSK78 platform, a 78-liter V18 engine, delivers up to 3500kVA and 3300kVA standby power at 50Hz, offering both Tier 2 and Low Nox scalable solutions for standby and data center continuous power applications.

Built as fully integrated systems, QSK78-powered generator sets feature Cummins advanced PowerCommand® 3400 control technology for precise voltage and frequency regulation, remote monitoring, and seamless system integration. The platform is further enhanced by the Centum™ Transmission Drive, purpose-built to support efficiency, power density, compactness, reliability, and ease of assembly. Together, these innovations enable fast start capability and strong transient performance, helping ensure dependable power continuity in the most critical operating environments.

In addition, the product, as all Cummins generator sets are, is compatible with paraffinic fuels such as HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), allowing operators to reduce lifecycle carbon emissions without requiring engine modifications—supporting customers’ sustainability goals.

The Centum™ Series’ QSK78 platform builds on Cummins’ legacy of innovation in power generation, leveraging decades of engineering expertise to deliver improved power density, reduced emissions, and optimized space utilization.  These advancements help customers maximize output while minimizing footprint—an increasingly critical factor in data center and urban infrastructure projects.

Cummins continues to differentiate itself by offering fully integrated power system solutions, combining generators, controls, transfer switches, switchgear, and digital monitoring capabilities into a single cohesive ecosystem. This end-to-end approach ensures customers benefit from seamless installation, operation, and lifecycle support.
