1RU Optical Transport Delivers High-Density 100G/400G Connectivity to Help Minimize Latency and GPU Idle Time Across Regional Clusters.
XKL LLC has announced specialized data center interconnect (DCI) capabilities for its MediaLight™ product family, optimized for distributed artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. MediaLight Xponder and MediaLight Muxponder 1RU systems deliver deterministic, sub-5us optical transport to synchronize regional compute clusters without the latency penalties of multi-hop routing architectures.
As distributed AI model training and real-time inference expand across campus and metro data centers, network architects face severe bottlenecks caused by packet jitter and queueing delays. MediaLight bypasses packet-layer overhead, providing direct, cut-through Layer 1 DWDM connectivity that keeps GPU clusters fully utilized and prevents costly compute idle time during large-scale dataset transfers.
“Distributed AI workloads cannot afford the latency penalties and packet queueing inherent in traditional routing architectures,” said Casey Inman, Director of Sales & Marketing at XKL. “MediaLight solves this directly at Layer 1. By delivering deterministic, high-capacity transport in a compact form factor, we ensure regional AI infrastructure operates at peak computational efficiency.”
